30-Day Challenge, Day 5

Patti Hall & Ricky RaccoonIf you’re new to the blog, today is Day Five of the 30 consecutive days during which I am formally doodling selected Avatars. This 30-day Doodle Challenge comes to you in the spirit of growing, pushing boundaries, and getting outside of my comfort zone.

Patti Hall is another Twitter buddy. When I first read about her,  I was impressed with how much sorrow and loss she’d overcome with grace and dignity. Her beloved died in 2009, a feline pal in 2010, her sister in 2012, a precious grandchild (age 3) in April 2013, and a special aunt in Oct 2013.

In November 2013 Patti wrote, “My days are infused in all this grief. One foot in front of the other…find the beauty in nature, share it, find some humor, share it, help someone else in pain, one foot in front of the other…”.

Patti Hall AvatarThere was a wonderful post in which she wrote about her family’s pet raccoon, Ricky. (Alas I cannot find the link.) However, the image of that pet raccoon inspired a doodle.

Tana, I’m really enjoying your doodles and how well you capture people’s features in such a simple way. Characiture exaggerates our worst features. Your doodles bring out the best in people. That is a gift. Blessings to you. Sydney
