Genie Wishes

c.138w genie lamp flippedThe question of tangible versus intangible arose while reading The Sadder But Wiser Girl‘s blog post “Where’s the Genie in My Bottle” this past Thursday. Given my “reality,” I’d have thought my answer would be the concrete and tangible. Apparently not.

When the hopefully-not-too-overworked-and/or stressed Genie inquires as to my wishes (am intentionally leaving the quantity blank), here’s my list:

*To be thankful (and grateful) for the Good Things and Little Happies in my life.

*To revel in the joy of Magic Moments.

*Centeredness and contentment be my stalwart companion as I go through life.

*The honor of both hearing and heeding my Little Voice.

*The delight of being enveloped in unconditional love.

*These wishes be bestowed on those whom I care about and love, … and on those whom they care about and love, … and on those whom they care about and love.

Given the opportunity, would your wishes be tangible, intangible or a combo?

Here’s wishing my wishes on you and yours, along with them and theirs, along with …

My wishes would be a combo. My biggest wishes center around joy and confidence and following your dreams…they’re all technically intangible, but often the benefits manifest themselves in the physical universe.

After I posted, I realized how lucky (blessed) I am to be able to consider the intangibles. After all, the basics are covered. I have decent food, shelter, and clothing. That said, I agree with you about the joy/confidence/dream triad. By following and focusing on joy, you emanate a goodness or a Happy. Said Happy builds confidence. The confidence both allows and encourages you to follow your dreams. Staying true to yourself/vision and following your dreams often manifests itself in the material. (As for the latter, the trick at times is to hang in there with enough faith/oomph/belief/determination long enough for the material manifestation to take place.)

Here’s wishing you a joyously confident journey as your follow your dream and turn it into your reality! So glad you stopped by. *smiles*

I have only one wish, because my life is so complete in contentment, love, listening to my inner voice and appreciating each day. I would like people to buy my novels. Cerainly, the remuneration would help to pay our bills, but more importantly, people would get a glimpse of that inner voice and see my version of how it works.

I am impressed you have but one wish because your life is so “complete in contentment.” Your poem “I Am The Same” eloquently tells us how you got there.

Thank you for stopping by, commenting, and sharing your wisdom in verse. Wishing you many, Many book sales!

I definitely would take the intangible peace-filled kind. The only thing that would supersede that would be a wish for better health and financial need. Thankfully no one in my immediate family is in need of either of those right now.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting Jaimie. As I wrote the post (actually it was a comment in reply to another’s post), I realized how incredibly fortunate/lucky/blessed I was that I could ask my “Genie” for intangibles. It was a very humbling moment. Wishing you many Magic Moments!
