Why Delegate?

    My website looks fabulous
To Julie DeNeen, I say thank you!

Talk about a wake-up call for delegating! While I was beyond belief proud of my prior site — having done the majority of it myself (technologically-challenged that I am), there was NO WAY I could have done anything like Julie DeNeen of Fabulous Blogging.  did here. Yay Julie!

Because of financial constraints, I put a lot of time, effort — and swearing — into creating my old site. The ultimate price? By the time I got something to look or behave the way I wanted, I was drained, wiped out, and in a bad mood.

You, like most, can learn to do most anything you want by putting your mind to it. But you’re not interested in doing everything. Since you have the talent to make certain tasks simple, why spend hours, weeks, months, years, pursuing something which is difficult (or you hate) since that only winds up draining you?

A wise person (entrepreneur, business person, parent, friend) will focus on their strength while encouraging others in theirs. Julie DeNeen is a whiz-banger at this on-line blogging/website stuff. She writes posts on technology that actually make sense to the techno-challenged crowd. It has been well worth delegating to her. This frees me up to focus on my strength — doodles.

Big NoseA prudent move in the beginning of a project (and periods of constricted funds), is taking the time to decide your order of delegation. (Even if as simple as having your house cleaned.) As often as possible, parcel out any task which your learning curve makes unviable or another can do in your stead. By arranging to spend as more time focusing on (and enhancing) your strength (that which you do which is unique to you), the better your results and the more fun you’ll have.

In honor of transparency, I admit to having occasionally had someone clean my home. However having a professional create this fabulous website has opened my mind to the wonders of delegating on a much higher level. I would love to hear what you’ve already delegated and what you want to delegate in the future.

Aww – thank you for the shout out. I had so much fun working on your site. There is something so simple (and profound) about your doodles. I wanted them to shine!!!!

Anyway, you are a great bloggy friend – doodle on!

Rob — I think we have a mutual doodle admiration society in the works. I hope by now you know I ADORE your doodle style. (I even printed out your four presidents as I am in awe by how you were able to convey each one’s individuality with just a few strokes.) Glad you liked the post. FYI, I TOTALLY and COMPLETELY appreciate your compliment (as do the doodles themselves which are now bouncing up and down in excitement).

Julie — It’s very easy to give you a shout out. You perform techno-magic with websites. I appreciate ALL your help, enthusiasm and encouragement in making the doodles shine. You’re right. The time has definitely come to doodle on!

I agree Sandra, Julie definitely has a special touch with websites. As I said in the post, I was proud of what I’d accomplished with the old site as I hadn’t a clue what I was doing. However, Julie without a doubt performed magic. The doodles truly shine in their new home. Woo-hoo!
